Oh, this passage has been on my mind lately, and I’m so glad to reread it, having remembered it from my children’s book! It is SO relevant to the procrastinator who just can’t get off the dime, and it lists the many excuses we manufacture! The beauty of seeing it again is allowing myself to step aside and see, with humor, the futility of it all.

I’m approaching 50, and was lucky enough to be given Dr Seuss’s books in my early childhood, despite being from a poor background, green eggs and ham will stay with me forever, but more so in sophisticated company, I still rely on jokes such as: Why do birds fly south in winter; why do firemen wear red braces and what is big and red and eats rocks?

What’s the deal with the word “flewn”, as in “My goodness how the time has flewn.”? I assume not a typo – just a little twist to grab ones attention or to help with the flow? Thanks for any info.
